Sein: to be
Ich bin, du bist, er / sie / es ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie / Sie sind.
Sie with a capital S is the polite "you" and uses sind: Sind Sie müde?
No article before professions: Ich bin Lehrer.
In statements the verb is always in second position: Heute bin ich müde.
